Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) is a non-surgical approach to spinal disease and lameness developed by William Inman, DVM. VOM is a healing technology that locates areas of the animal’s nervous system that have fallen out of communication and re-establishes neuronal communication, which induces healing.
VOM restores function to the body by correcting “subluxation” (nerve and spinal misalignments) as is done in chiropractic care. VOM technique uses a hand-held device called an “activator” which delivers a small, quick thrust. The goal of an adjustment in an animal is to reduce all the vertebral subluxations in that holistic, organic solutions for your petanimal. This technique usually requires five to six treatments on the average with occasional tune-ups as needed.
